Blues Funeral is de zevende LP van Mark Lanegan.  De veel te vroeg van ons heen gegane zanger van Screaming Trees bracht het album voor het eerst uit in 2012. Mark Lanegan was 1  van de meest actieve artiesten in de Amerikaanse rockmuziek. Van zijn tijd als hoofd van de grunge-iconen The Screaming Trees tot zijn jaren bij de Queens Of The Stone Age tot  de parttime band The Gutter Twins en zijn werk met Isobel Campbell. Of het nu gaat om stijl, songwriting, stem, zijn opzwepende teksten of zijn algehele uitstraling, Lanegan straalt iets mystieks en duisters uit. All fall Down is de derde LP van The Sound. De groep bracht het album voor het eerst uit in 1982. Dit is een heruitgave op blauw vinyl. Na een paar veelgeprezen maar commercieel onsuccesvolle platen (Jeopardy en From The Lion's Mouth), werd The Sound uit Groot-Brittannië door hun label gevraagd om een meer commerciële LP te maken.  Maar de groep ging daar niet op in en All Fall Down werd een donkere, angstige en gedreven LP die wordt beschouwd als 1 van hun strafste platen. Het leidde er uiteindelijk toe dat de groep op straat kwam te staan en het label het album weigerde te promoten. Dit dissonante en sobere album, dat nu door veel fans wordt beschouwd als de meest geslaagde plaat van The Sound, wordt nog steeds beschouwd als een van de beste Britse platen van de vroege jaren 80 en heeft duidelijk invloed gehad op de post-punk revival scene van de vroege jaren 2000. De LP DNA van danny Vera kwam tot stand op een andere manier dan gebruikelijk voor Vera. “Waar ik normaal twee à drie jaar doe over twintig liedjes, heb ik ze nu in twee maanden tijd geschreven”, vertelt hij. “Alles kwam er eigenlijk gewoon spontaan uit.” De vibe van het album is aanmerkelijk anders dan die op zijn vorige plaat. “Ik merkte al snel dat er een andere sfeer ontstond in de liedjes, vergeleken met mijn vorige album 'The New Now'.
